The official instructions to get a hyper news account can be found here https://hypernews.cern.ch/HyperNews/CMS/add-member.pl

Login to any lxplus CERN machine. A CERN account is needed to proceed.

[user@grow-in0 ~]$ ssh lxplus.cern.ch

ssh to hypernews.cern.ch. A script will automatically run when you login prompting you for your full name, email, personal web page and a password.

[lxplus305] /afs/cern.ch/user/d/user > ssh hypernews.cern.ch

If the script suceeds you will get a message such as:

You have successfully created a membership in the CMS HyperNews.  
See the following page to start using HyperNews:

    https://hypernews.cern.ch/HyperNews/CMS/top.pl

You should use your username and your new HyperNews password to login.
Goodbye.
